1. Lord Stow’s Bakery ( 安德鲁葡挞 )

The name Lord Stow’s has become synonymous with the best Portuguese egg tarts in Macau. Buttery flaky pastry shell and rich custard filling, Macau’s version differs from most egg tarts sold elsewhere. Miss it and you will regret.

We recommend eating steaming hot egg tarts straight from the ovens of Lord Stow’s Bakery, because they taste twice as nice when piping hot. A must eat food in Macau!

2. Margaret Cafe e Nata ( 玛嘉烈蛋挞 )

Tucked away in one of Macau’s lively pedestrian back alleys, situated close to St Paul Ruins & Senado Square Margaret’s Cafe is well known for their great Portuguese egg tarts. Compared to Lord Stow’s egg tart, Margaret’s egg tart has more flaky crust and buttery content.

Address : Edif. Kam Loi, Nam Van Area

Opening Hours :

Monday to Saturday – 6.30am to 8.00pm

Sunday – 9.00am to 7.00pm

Closed on Wednesday

Getting There : Bus – 2, 3, 3A, 5, 7, 10, 10A, 11, 18, 21A, 26A, 33.

1. Stop at Senado Square. You can ask direction from Macau Tourism at Senado Square ( Yellow Building ) or

2. With Senado Square on your left side and Leal Senado Building on your right side, walk straight, cross Av. da Praia Grande ( name of the road ), keep walking straight and turn to Rua Do Dr. P José Lobo on your right side, and then turn to an alley on the left side ( Beside CTM office ) once you turn in to Rua Do Dr. P José Lobo. 5 minutes walk.

3. Tai Lei Loi Kei ( 大利来记咖啡室 ) – Closed Down

The winning combination of a crisp, hearty, freshly baked bun, together with a tender and juicy pork chop, makes a truly scrumptious snack.

Make sure to be punctuated in order to taste this freshly baked pork chop bun. They baked & start selling these buns every day at 3pm. Almost all will be sold by 5pm. They sell 300 buns in the weekdays and 600 in the weekends.

4. Chan Kong Kei 陈光记饭店

With more than 50 years of experience serving one of Macau best roast duck, marinated in special home made black pepper sauce.

Its distinct flavour and the juiciness of the meat immediately distance itself among other ordinary roast duck. A bite of it, will haunt you for more !!

A special Chinese snack bites – gelatin dessert cake with a variety of flavours. The famous one would be King of the Fruits – Durian Ice Crean.

6. Hung Pun Kei ( 鸿彬记小食 )

Serving undisputed beef brisket noodles for more than 10 years, don’t be fool by the small eatery as it is frequent by many locals. One of local favorites, 牛杂 which is a mixture of all parts of beef including intestine, blood, liver is not for the faint of heart. Yet you will instantly notice almost every table orders it.

What to Order : 牛腩面 ( Beef Brisket Noodles ), 牛杂 ( Mixture of all parts of beef )

    Thanks for your postings esp the one on dining in Macau. The tarts at Margaret Cafe were delicious, couldn’t find similar standard at other Macau cake shops. My husband and I enjoyed the black pepper roast duck and vegetables for dinner at Chan Kong Kei, a balanced meal outside of home.
