Arriving Munich

From Munich International Airport

1. S-Bahn

The airport connects to central Munich by S-Bahn on the S1 and S8 line. The journey costs €11.00 for a day pass or €19.80 for a partner ticket which is valid for up to five people.

A train runs every 5 to 20 minutes and it takes about 40 minutes to get to the central station.

From Memmingen Airport

Located 110 km away from Munich, Memmingen Airport is marketed as “Munich West” by Ryanair. Shuttle buses to Munich is aligned to Ryanair’s schedule. One way tickets are 20 € and 15 € if pre-booked via Internet.

The buses arrive (and go from) Munich’s Hackerbrücke train station which is located next to Munich main station. Unless out of option, it is not wise to fly to Memmingen to arrive Munich as it is time consuming & not cost effective.

From Train Station

Munich’s main train station (Hauptbahnhof) is conveniently located in the center of Munich.

Well connected to Munich, it is 2 S-Bahn stations away from Marienplatz or a short walk to the city center.
