AirAsia has launched new route from Penang!
Penang suffered a lot when there are less direct flights to international destination. In few years Penang lost direct flights to Macau, Hong Kong, Yangon, Ho Chi Minh, Koh Samui, Bandung. So it is a good news to know 2 more direct flights are introduced.
Booking Period : Now until 8 April 2018
Travel Period : July 2018 to Oct 2018

2. Penang to Hanoi – 2 way RM299

Conclusion
It is definitely a good news for Penangnites to be able to fly direct instead of taking transit in Kuala Lumpur. Hopefully both routes can be permanent although I am skeptical for Hanoi route to be sustainable if Ho Chi Minh could not.
