Travelodge Central Hollywood Road Hong Kong

We were very lucky to book Hong Kong to Boston return for only RM1,000 per pax on Air Canada. We even got cash back by booking with ShopBack. As the flight departs from Hong Kong, we decided to fly in Hong Kong earlier for a food trip.

For this trip we stayed in Travelodge Central Hollywood Road Hong Kong. One of the reason we chose the hotel was due to its strategic location to some of the best Hong Kong cuisine. Not only that, it is also easy to get around Hong Kong with Sheung Wan station 10 mins walk away.

After a short rest to refresh ourselves, our first stop – Kau Kee Beef Brisket which is just 7 mins walk from the hotel. It is probably one of the best beef brisket you can find in the world, delicious, tender, slow cooked beef brisket cooked in a broth of spices, never fails to disappoint with long queue of eager devotees waiting to devour the legendary noodle.

Make sure to order the curry tendon beef brisket, divinely rich curry sauce & tender beef brisket.

I do recommend to visit Man Mo Temple (5 mins walk from hotel) a small yet quaint temple. It is one of the oldest Taoist temple in Hong Kong paying tribute to the God of Literature (Man) and the God of War (Mo).

The temple is located about halfway along the road and a stop in its quiet, incense-shrouded interior makes a pleasant break.

The 1 Michelin star Kam’s Roast Goose is just 2 station away from the hotel. Founded by the grandson of the founder of Yung Kee Restaurant, Kam’s Roast Goose scintillate diners with their plump & juicy well roasted goose.

The goose are well marinated camp style to ensure the marination penetrates into the meat while keeping them moist during roasting. Do expect a long queue especially during peak hours however waiting time is usually less than 45 mins.

Between the streets of Sheung Wan and Central lies Hollywood Road, a place crowded with streets art, lively bars, artisan coffees, modern art galleries, alongside antique dealers and dried goods vendors.

To capture all of it, a walk from hotel is highly recommended to cover all the places.
