One of the pioneer luxury & tallest hotel in Taipei, the 43 stories Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel Taipei is primely located 5 mins drive away from Taipei 101 and within 7 mins walking distance to LiuZhangLi Station.
Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel Taipei recently completed approx USD50 million renovation to its guest rooms, lobby and f&b outlets ensuring guests the ultimate luxury experience at its best.
The spacious yet opulently designed lobby greeted us gracefully with a refined fusion interior of Eastern and Western touches along with artworks inspired by classical Sung Dynasty pieces.
We were greeted by friendly staffs offering us classic Chinese tea and wet towels to freshen ourselves while waiting for room check in.
The hotel consists 420 exquisitely appointed rooms including 53 suites offering picturesque views of Taipei Skyline including Taipei 101 & complimentary high speed wifi throughout the hotel. Another reason why I love staying in Shangri La.
Our Executive Horizon Club Room is contemporary designed with some traditional Chinese touches, features high ceilings, generous space, walk in closet, cosy sitting area, executive writing desk and window side sitting area ideal for relaxation while enjoying the view.
The large marble bathroom contains a 12-inch flat screen television, sizable bathtub, premium Shangri La bathroom amenities and separate shower area.
As we are staying in Executive Room with Horizon Club Lounge benefits, we are entitled to additional benefits such late check out at 4pm, all day beverages, complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea & evening cocktails at the lounge. Diamond members of Shangri La’s Golden Circle Program are also entitled to the benefits.
The evening cocktail at Horizon Club starts from 5.30pm to 7.30pm and offers a variety of sumptuous canapes & finger food along with alcohol beverages such as beer, red & white wine and cocktails
There is also a fabulous heated outdoor rooftop Swimming pool and Jacuzzi on the 43rd Floor offering panoramic views of the sprawling Taipei city. It is opened daily 6am to 10pm at night.
A Fitness Center is also available in the hotel with a fully-equipped gym & on-site personal trainers. However as they dont allow photos to be taken (which we dont understand why & first time encountering), we are unable to take photo of the fitness center.
Li Bai Lounge in Shangri La Taipei is a great place to relax and chill. Taking inspiration from renowned Chinese poet Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty, the lounge is modernly design with ample relaxing space that focus on glamorous Asian elements
The lounge features premium Taiwanese tea and exclusive tea cocktails with Live music every Wednesday through Saturday in the evenings.
The breakfast at the Horizon Club offers quite a large selections of European bread, Cheese, Premium Cold cuts, salad, fruits, juices and Oriental delights such as dim sum & porridge.
Apart from buffet spread, there is also ala carte choices & today’s special as well included in the breakfast.
Mainly a business hotel, we do hope leisure guests will catch up so we can enjoy in a more relaxing way as with the many stays at Shangri La worldwide, it is a brand that clearly defines luxury stays without disappointment.
Overall the superior services at Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel Taipei especially Horizon club staffs clearly enhances our stay experiences. The staffs were attentive & helpful, greeting us in a warm genuine manner and willingness to help out during our stay.
What we look forward : More receptive to technology & social media users, encourage photograph taking in common areas.
